Instructions: Cooking Instructions – General **Soak rice 10-15 minutes for extra grain length (optional). For enhanced taste, add 2 teaspoons of oil or 1 tablespoon of butter and a pinch of salt for each dry cup of rice prepared. To remove excess starch from rice, rinse Basmati Rice 1-2 times, then drain. For firmer rice, use less water and reduce cooking time. For softer rice, use more water and increase cooking time. **Stovetop – From Ambient **Bring 2 cups water to a boil in sauce pan with tight fitting lid. Add 1-cup rice, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 18 minutes or until water is absorbed. **Microwave – From Ambient **Combine 1-cup rice and 2-1/4 cups water in a microwave-safe tray (1.5 qts – 2 qts). Cover tightly with microwave-safe lid and cook on high power setting for 15 minutes. Remove from microwave. Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time. **Caution: Container will be hot. **Other – From Ambient **Rice Cooker Instructions: **Use ratio: 1 cup (dry rice): 2 cups (water).
