Instructions: Stovetop – From Ambient **Rangetop Instructions: **1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.* **2. Stir in rice.** Cover. **3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed. ***Cooking Measurement Chart **Rice: 1 cup; Water: 1 1/2 cups; Yield: 3 cups; Servings: 4 **Rice: 2 cups; Water: 3 cups; Yield: 6 cups; Servings: 8 **Rice: 3 cups; Water: 4 1/2 cups; Yield: 9 cups; Servings: 12 ****Add 1 tbsp. margarine and 1 tsp. salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired. Note: For best results, do not lift lid or stir while cooking. **Microwave – From Ambient **1. In a 2-quart microwave safe dish, combine 1 3/4 cups water and 1 cup rice.** **2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 10 minutes. **3. Let stand for 5 minutes. ****It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. **Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
